S4 N/A engine bay pic request

So I've been swapping my old motor with a bad coolant seal out for a reman (which my buddy found at a junkyard for $200 ) and we've got the engine in and have most of the external stuff back together. One thing we did not make a note of when we were disassembing everything though was the brake booster line. The old one was damaged in the removal and we can't reuse it so we got some replacement line. It sounds stupid, but I'm not sure if the pipe coming off my manifold is bent or something because we can't seem to get the new hose on there right and we can't even really figure out how the old one fit on either.

It would be incredibly helpful if someone could get a good pic or even post an engine bay shot that shows the complete brake booster line where it connects from the hard line on the passenger side to where it connects to the intake manifold. I've been looking but I can't find anything that really shows what I'm looking for. We're hoping to get the car running and out of my friend's garage tomorrow so hopefully someone will have something by tomorrow morning.

Have you checked the FSM and/or Haynes manual/

The Factory Service Manual can be found in the FAQ For FC thread. It contains all this information and more, and is an essential tool for any sort of service work that needs to be performed on these cars.

Additionally, the Haynes service manual for the 1986 thru 1991 RX-7 (both turbo and NA) can be found at most local auto parts stores or purchased from any good bookstore (ISBN number 1 56392 007 7). It is only about $25 and is a great quick reference for things like this. Not only does it contain most of the information in the FSM condensed into an easy to read format, but it includes full wiring diagrams as well.

These manuals will answer 99% of service related questions for the car and if you intend to do your own repair work, you will need at least one of them. Preferably both, since the FSM is a free download.

Yeah, I actually have an original paper copy of the '86 FSM (my car's an 86). I doubt we would have been able to get this far on a motor swap without it. Unfortunately after searching through the whole thing I found one diagram that kind of shows it but not good enough for me to tell what I'm looking for. Seeing an actual picture would be ten times more helpful.

Just make Sure when you Connect the RUBBER HOSE to the Steel Line,that it is ON CORRECTLY..that little Curved hose contains a One Way Valve.It allows the Booster to get Vacuum to Operate,and it won't allow the Brakes to Suck air from the Manifold,Unless you apply the brakes...If that Little hose is On Backwards,you get a Hard Pedal..like the Brakes are Hitting a Brick wall,and they Will work,but you really have to "get on them".That I would add that info to your thread..Sorry NO Pics for ya..it's dark over here!

Thanks pimpdaddy. Your first two pictures show enough for me to tell how the stock one was run.

The line I'm looking at is the one on the passenger's side of the car going from the hard line down to the intake manifold. It does indeed look like my pipe coming off the manifold might be messed up. We ended up cutting some extra line and looping it around so it's good now. It does't matter anyway though, we finished everything up and the car isn't working right at all.
