s4 Lower Control Arm on s5

so ok... do I need to replace both LCA's if I wanted to replace with s4 or can I replace only one?

No they're different... You'll also need the S4 sway bar, end links, and subframe, because they have different mounting locations...

i'm pretty sure you dont need to change the subframe. some s5 guys change to s4 control arms and swaybar endlinks because s5 balljoints arent replaceable. i doubt theyd change the whole subframe as well just for that.

well its not like that subframe takes a lot to change out... but yeah I can't imagine its that way... I guess I will look in parts manual and see.

i have a series 5. am running S5 control arm on one side, and an S4 control arm on the other. the previous owner decided the one side needed a bushing change, so instead of getting a whole new control arm, he took an S4 and just put in a new bushing.

the car handles fine on the road. i have tracked it at autocross with no real problems.

i'm not quite sure if the suspension geometry is actually different, but i am just saying i have not noticed any serious effects.

excellent... thanx for the info... I was pretty sure that it would work based in parts fiche info... and since the sway bar connects the LCA in almost the exact same way... just one end link is different than the other.

yea you pretty much got it. I'm thinking of doing the same thing cause replacing the whole control arm for a bushing seems dumb. Plus the junkyard always has S4's but never S5's
