you can use s4 lim on s5 aslong as you have the s4 upper also. they have to be paired
you can only use s4 lower with s4 upper or s5 lower with s5 upper only they dont interchange
but they both bolt to the block the same

Get s5 manifolds. I went through this a year ago, it's stupid to use s4. The runners are not designed for the s5's larger ports. The intake plenum is smaller on the s4 too. Compare them side-by-side and you will see what I mean. I put s5 JDM manifolds on my s5 irons when I built my motor, which is a hybrid s4/s5 engine. It has s4 front cover/OMP and rotor housings, s5 irons and intake manifolds, aftermarket longer runner FD single turbo manifold. Electronics are all s4.
Match the irons and manifolds. The s4's will work ,but Mazda designed the s5 irons and manifolds as a complete system. Even if you port match the s4 manifolds it's still not the same as using genuine s5 parts.
