Arrow S4 Jspec T2 Rebuild startup norms (how much smoke etc)

Ok guys just got this s4 jspec t2 swap rebuilt and it is smoking a decent amount. I had to do the ATF in the combustion chamber trick to get it to finally start. It is still hard as hell to start and won't idle for ****, which I think will settle if I can at least get it warm.

But how much smoke is normal? I can also see the **** coming out near where the downpipe and turbo meet. Like to hear some feedback. Thanks guys-

Derek

Im thinking the ATF fouled the plus. Going to switch those out tomorrow and see what they do. Still smokes just a little bit...

ATF is famous for fouling out the plugs because of thickness. Try using motor oil next time, You only need about a oil cap full in each chamber and it only smokes for a minute or two. Less chance of fouled plugs.

The trick with fresh rebuilds is to get some driving done on it once you have it started. The constant starting and shutting off and starting can cause a apex seal to break or roll out of the groove by getting caught on the housing.

There will be quite a bit of smoke when you first start and for the next several minutes. Usually it is thick white smoke. Once the assembly lube burns up, it shouldn't smoke anymore. You might warn the neighbors before starting the first time, though...
