S4 HT-18 rebuild kit

Where can i find a good rebuild kit for my s4 turbocharger. I heard the one from gpopshop doesn't even fit, which is a bummer cause it was only $81. I would prefer to do the rebuild myself so i just need the kit, not someone else to do it for me. Thanks

yea, the gpopshop kit is useless... basically the only thing that fits is the oil seal on the turbine side, and some of the nuts and bolts. Plus, their lock-nut for the compressor wheel doesnt really lock, costing me a T4 wheel and housing

Bringing up a semi-old thread, but my turbo leaks oil really bad. Leaks from the turbine side, where it bolts to the compressor. Would you guess that rebuilding it would fix my issues? I will pull it off before I order the kit, but is this what I should be getting? Or does Mazda offer a kit as well?

I have heared nothing but good things about G-pop shop from people who have used them ..
The only Thing is they are a little expensive.. I am sending my turbo out to them to have High performance Rebuild and Upgrade.. Looking forward to have it back .. will let you know of any problems ..

Kudos for searching. The bearings, S4 and S5, are the exact same. The ONLY difference between an S5 and S4 turbo is the exhaust housing. Unbolt the exhaust housing from an S4 and slap on an S5 housing. Bam. Instant S5 turbo

The "brass bushings" are standard size found in most Garrett T3 and T4 size turbos. Like AGreen said there is no difference between the S4 and S5 turbochargers as far as the rotating assembly is concerned.

Also the gpopshop kit works just fine.

Kudos for searching.
Off-topic, but that's the first time I've ever seen that. Searching and replying normally results in people going off about reviving 'dead/ old' threads, opening new threads results in the response 'this has been covered 1000+ times, so search'. Anyways, I guess I won't be as hesitant about reviving an old thread now.

Well, at least it's apparent that he tried searching. I'm sure with a little more looking around he probably could have found the answer, but that's not the point

Typed "Rebuild HT-18" in the search bar, 3rd or 4th tread down. Good thread if you've never disassembled a turbo before...

This thread was about rebuilding the actual turbo, not the engine.

But there are several places that sell rebuild kits for the engines. I pick my stuff up from Atkins since i am local to them.
