S4 Haynes Wiring Question

What do the letters in brackets [] mean? I know the letters to the left indicate the primary and secondary color of the wire. But what is the letter in the Bracket?

I figured out this one because I have the Haynes and the factory service manual. The haynes never tells you what the letters mean. In the factory harness those letters tell you which harness the wire is in. What people usually refer to as the engine harness is actually the emissions harness. The engine harness is on the left side (spark Plug side)
. The front harness goes to lights and just a couple of the engine functions. There is a dash harness too. If you need the exact coding, I will send it to you if you PM me. Otherwise, this is what you wanted.

F....Front harness

E....Engine harness

R....Rear harness

EM.....Emissions harness (the one with fuel injector plugs, bac plug, acv plugs etc).

The guy above beat me by one minute.
