S4 "Cooling Fan Light"

My car cranks and wont actually start until the warning light for cooling fan comes on... thats always how it has been. On a long drive at the end of it, when i got back into the stop and go traffic the light came on. This is for that black fan that you can see through your front bumper right? Anyways I pulled the power to it. (Wouldn't spin, so i decided to have it stop sapping the CCA for the engine) and it the car still wont turn on until that warning light comes on, now it stays on (i assume since i pulled the power to the fan). Is it ok for me to be driving like this, or am i going to overheat? If its ok, is there any way for me to trick the sensor/cpu whatever to say that the cooling fan is ok?

that electric fan is secondary for the tran or oilcooler maybe..Not sure..BUT i DO know that the fan is Connected to that Green Plug that go's into the sensor next to the thermostat.. If you Just remove the Plug the fan should stay on all the time when the key is on...I know this cause my sensor is bad.. i have mine unpluged so the fan comes on..

I think my actual fan is busted, but will try that and see what happens. If its secondary i dont really think i need it... my primary still works like a charm.
