loud sound from the exhaust..

alright on my t2 i put a 3in exhaust with a res. when the turbo usually would spool up it gets really loud, i figured hey thats cool its just the pressure coming out. then a buddy of mine was riding next to me and i dropped it next to him he said it was so ****** loud he didnt know what the hell was goin on lol. so i drove his car and he drove mine and he floored it next to me, the damn thing sounded like metal on metal rubbing it hurt my ears a little because of the high pitch..

ive been having boost problems since i bout the car (highest hit is 1psi) could the possibly be the fins rubbing on the housing? im gunna check the oil lines today to the turbo maybe its not lubing up, im also gunna go make a 4dollar boost controller just to see if i can get any boost out of the damn thing.. atleast if it hits 8.6psi the motor will just kill i guess, but i have a aftermarket guage to monitor it

any thoughts?

Metal on metal? 1psi? I don't know TOO much about this kind of thing, but if i were to make an educated guess I would guess that the fins are rubbing on the compressor housing.
