S4 Apexi Power FC Harness Adapter

We completed the first of the S4 adapters for mounting the FD Apexi Power FC today. We will be installing, testing and tuning in the next few days to establish a base map. We are going to try to keep the pricing the same as the S5 kit. We will let you know when it will be available for purchase.

Here is a pic.

1. To make more reliable power to the wheels
2. Have more options for tuning than safc
3. To run n/a turbo if anyone wanted to
4. Cheaper price than Haltech, Microtech, etc

Yes, I suppose it could. The map would have to be reconfigured for vacuum only, that would give you 400 fuel correction cells.

The other plus are that you get to loose the AFM, upgrade to any injectors you want, and unlike the S-afc have control over timing. You could also install a knock sensor.

I will take a close look at the N/A wiring diagrams, just to make sure, I know there are slight differences.

Everyone's getting WAY too worked up about the bankruptcy. Companies operate for YEARS under bankruptcy - it's simply a way to re-structure the company when the debt portfolio gets too great.

People have already spoken with people from Apexi and they have said there will be no change in operations.

Not to mention so many of Apexi's products are very good sellers. If they literally shut the door, some other enterprising company would buy the rights to produce the products.

Too many people have been Chicken Little over this issue - give it a rest.

It will probably affect future product development of other stuff, but they are not just going to stop manufacturing the most-used aftermarket computer for the FD.

There is no need for the TPS, and as with the S5 we are supplying the adapter harnesses for the IAT and MAP sensors. I am working on a harness for the igniter. We are not going to sell any of the sensors or the Power FC. We do have all the part numbers and the best sources listed on the "how-to".

You gotta be kidding me...

Are you assuming your (possibly) 20 year old wiring harness be good enough to handle?
How about you include the $1,000+ price tag for a brand new Mazda OEM engine harness with the costs?
Still think it's cheaper?
I doubt it...

The Power FC obviously does not cure a fried harness, but if there is nothing wrong with it, then it certainly does not have to be replaced. What it does do is eliminate some of the 20 year old components that fail all the time, AFM, pressure sensor, variable resistor, etc. Plus, no more need for a FCD or S-afc and the ability to upgrade to any size injectors.

Meh. Clean all your grounds etc, buy the Power FC, install it, and if it still runs like ****, get a new harness--provided that you don't somehow pop the motor or something. If it runs fine, well, you're golden like a shower.

I just like the ease of use and aftermarket support of the Power FC. I had no trouble figuring it out on my friend's FD.

Oh and the engine harness is like $800ish. I called Mazdatrix.

IF mazdatrix wants $800 then Ray at Malloy would be even less.

We offer to solder in resistors for low imp injectors. On the 87-87.5 there is already a resistor pack.

AS soon as Sumitomo responds with a quote and lead time for the ignitor connector I will have a much better idea. We will be contacting you and all the other people that have already purchased the S5 adapter kit, when it is available.

Would it eliminate the need for soldering, because if so.... I would love you forever.

Yes, completely eliminate soldering and bring the install time down to about 1 hour.
