s4 ALT vs s5 ALT

can they be swapped? i have a s5 engine and think i need to use a s4 ALT (because of swap) or i have to make two different spacers so the s5 can fit

Yea you can make it work. Simple mod might be needed on the connector but I could be wrong.

You definately need to move a connector wire. Do a forum search to find the diagram.

The S5 alternator is a direct bolt-on except for the small wiring changes shown in my pics in post #5 in the that thread. You should buy a new 2-pin plug to suit the S5 alternator. Cut the old 2-pin plug off and wire in the new one as shown.

I'd say the pic in the 2nd thread is easier to understand (from NZConvertible). W, B/W, W/B, etc. refers to wire colors. The EGI fuse is in the fuse box under the hood. So you need the new plug and a wire, as mentioned.
