S4 5 Speed Extension Housing Part(s)

S5

#12 Listed as spring cap, spring and steel ball in the S5. # 10 Listed as cap bolt, spring and lock ball in the S4 manual, mine is missing. I drove this car 30,00 miles probably before parking it 10+ years ago, I didn't know enough about the car to realize it was missing. Pic for refrence:

Aside from the possible rear seal leak. You can see a hole above the output spindle/shaft? It seems pretty odd as it is a 19mm bolt and is pretty tight from what I have read so far. If I am not mistaken, I found the right part. I have searched for a replacement with no luck. Any resouces available to point me towards? Any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance.

parts list below, the only part not available is the actual bolt, which is shared with the 79-91 Rx7, and 1990-1997 Miata

Thank you for your time, I really apreciate it. After seeing this post and doing some thinking about this I fiqured out where I went wrong in my search. Hopefully this will help others.

1. Call your local dealership, the parts desk people do this for a living.
2. Check The official Mazda site for parts and not the individual dealership sites. I thought they were all tied together, they are, just not the way I expected.
3. If looking for parts for the car, be less specific. I searched "87 rx7 transmission parts list" When I searched " 87 rx7 parts list" I found what I needed.

This section of the book is section 17 CHANGE-CONTROL-SYSTEM-MANUAL-WO-TURBO/ Honestly, it was still a little tricky to find the parts even then so, thank you again for the help.

I was able to order all of the parts needed from the official site. Just over $25 shipped, now to see if I get an updated order list without the bolt, listed as "CAP, SPRING"

the official site is https://parts.mazdausa.com/ it will let you order from a dealer

Thanks, still kind of confused though. When I searched Part#'s via the web browser, individual Mazda sites came up and typically just showed available parts, not the parts catalogs and links. No biggie, I got it sorted.

I ordered the parts and it was cancelled due to the spring/cap or screw as expected. When I called the dealer closest to my work he was able to search a nationwide database of dealer stock. Not sure if it was done this way or not for the online order. It seemed like other parts person fulfilling the order was trying to order from factory warehouses. I might call the other one back a see what is up. I will break out the thread gauge and taps to check the sizing for the bolt. I will just get an extremely short one and a washer or a small bolt and cut it down so it doesn't leak. I won't drive this till spring anyway unless I move it from the garage. I drove this without shifter bushings, the thick rubber piece around the shifter, these parts above, the return spring and posibly more without troubles for years. I always wondered why the stick was so loose. This is the only "What were they thinking?" repairs of 150+ hours of work so far, kinda lucky I think. I will revisit finding the part in the spring if the dealership doesn't come through. Thank you for the help!!
