S-AFC or reprogrammed ECU?

Well, I have my superchips ECU now. I want to get a S-AFC, but am wondering if the gains would be greater with that, or the ECU I have now. Basically the ECU leans out the top end and advances timing accordingly. With the S-AFC I just have conrol over fuel, but not timing. I could probably sell my ECU for a good chunk of what the S-AFC would cost. Which one would be a more practical use for me? Im planning on a rebuild with a large streetport and S5 N/A rotors, so Im thinking this ECU wont really be of much good anymore once I do that.

Hands down the s-afc is the best mod i've ever done to my car. If you do install a s-afc, then you can fine tune your car perfectly on a dyno. Although, I would keep the ecu too, as the bump in the timing is pretty helpfull. CJ

Couldnt I just manually advance the timing? As then I could sell the ECU to make up the cost of the S-AFC.

Keep the ECU to do timing but also pick up a used s-afc off ebay (or here or whatever) for like 150 bucks so you can control fuel better.

You can bump the timing. But the ecu probably has a different timing map than the stock ecu has. I'd keep it. CJ
