s-afc problems

I just recently installed a s-afc controller on my S5 NA. I followed the instructions from both the Apexi and the how-to on 1300.com. Since the install my car has been bogging and dieing at idel with +0 correction all across the powerband and the check engine light is also on. I did a search and couldnt really find a thread with anyone having the same problem. So if someone could point me in some sort of direction on fixing this problem i would like that alot. Thanks

Did you set the engine type for 4 cylinder with the arrow pointing up and to the right? Did you input the right sensor type?

did you cut and splice your connections? they should all be spliced except the air flow meter wire. and it's +0 correction across the powerband probably because you didn't set any of thm. Did you set up the tach wire correctly? are all the sensor giving you readings when you go to the sensor check window? you need to make sure all these are working before you start your car... you can potentially damage your motor.

you said the car is running correct? do you get an RPM on the SAFC?
it should tell you what RPM your car is currently running... should be the most blatantly simple task to find.

yes. how about the sensor check window... do you get readings from all the ones you are supposed to? and about the correction... have you even set anything to expect a correction other than +0?

How many of the sensors are suppose to be reading? And yes i have set it to + and - setting. + settings make the car run worse and - makes it run about the same

Pull the codes. That would have been the first thing I did since the CEL came on.

ah, i missed the cel part... if the cel came on after you did it.. you may have has something wrong with your wiring, or possibly even wiggled some wires to much causing some bad cold solder points... liek ilik2eatricers said... pull the codes.

you don't need a code scanner to pull the codes... you can use the light method.
