No matter what color your plugs are I'm not so sure your running lean. An NA with a catback, intake and hi-flow cat shouldn't be running lean.

I agree with this cat. Its hard to make an N/A run lean.

when he had it checked did the car have an exhaust leak? if it did that would be the reason it was showing lean.

Well I've never heard of a diagnostic check using a wideband O2 sensor. Are you talking about one of those $50 ones at like a local Pep Boys or the such?

there is no way the car is running lean. your plugs are supposed to have that color to them not to black not to white and a little specled(sp). a cat-back would richen the mixture. where did you take the car for the diagnostic??

also, if you want to see if your running rich or lean you can hook up a multi meter to the O2 sensor and to ground. the reading should be between .95-1.0 V

ryde,
they could have used an exhaust gas analyzer to see the mixture(did this yesterday)although it's not as accurate as a wide band, tuning wise. but, it gets the job done for the most part.

Ya but rotaries exhaust is hotter than a piston engines, which would lead a regular shop to think that its running lean, right?
