S/4 Vert Wont Idle!
s/4 vert wont hold idle? I just eliminated stock air box put on cone filter, started up fine, drove fine got on freeway and drove about 5-10 miles then got off on my exit, wen the light turnd green i realized my car was off, so i started her up and rpm went to 2grand or so then just died out.
I recently put stock air box back on,all vac ume lines are on, got a new mass air flow sensor, held the throttle on from under the hood , carefully played with the lean and rich sensor (no effect), played with the tps (no effect) I sprayed some non flamible brake cleaner in the area where the vacume lines are and intake gasket area, (no effect).
I took her for a spin today and she drives just fine plenty of power! she just wont idle. Could this be my tps? cuz wen i start her up (cold) wont idle , but now if i hold my foot on gas pedal at 3grand or so for about 10 sec's (make her idle) and then after the 10 sec's take my foot off of gas pedal she will idle but slowly drop down and then die out..

Well i got more time today and sprayed some non flameable brake cleaner around passenger side lower intake manifold and car startd to idle up and down real quick pulses, i then got the brake cleaner in my face and eye (burnd real bad for a sec or two), cuz i was too close to the engine, trying to pin point the vacume leak.
I felt air coming from what i beleive either lower intake mani, or the thing the short smog pump hose connects to on the engine.. do the gaskets on those and lower intake mani go bad and leak?

Your idle is touchy to many things........TPS and Vac leaks are the main problems. If you know how to use a multimeter test your TPS. Pull off you upper intake and check all of your vac lines and put it back together using a good gasket sealer. While you have the manifold off, check to make sure your fuel rails are tight!

Sounds like:
*TPS
*Vacuum leak
*Funky broken/dirty AFM (probably not)
Unplug your BAC valve... if there's no difference in idle, then its dead. If it drops or changes at all. then the bac is doing something.
The BAC only really affects your idle when accessories are on such as AC, Heater, Headlights, Defrost, etc... Other than that, it does very little.
Put the stock airbox back on.. See what happens... maybe there's a hose you are missing or a leak you are creating in the process.. or.. maybe its heat soak. The stock airbox is better than an open cone anyways.

sounds like you got a vac leak. can you hear anything that sounds like a leak? the small hose that comes from the air pump in the air control valve. i dont think that will leak. Being that this started after you worked on it...correct? im sure either a vacuum line is brittle and when you were working in there didnt notice but it cracked and created a leak or you left a hose off. and thats why the idle rised when you sprayed brake cleaner right by where you were working. i dont think its a tps problem because it was running fine then you put a cone filter in a pufff problem.
