S/4 Na Motor Swap but no injection
I have a 88 that I recently just bought in great shape accept the motor had coolent seals blown, I drug it home turned the motor over it started right up but white smoke came out the muffler so I swaped the motor
Anyways now that I have swapped the motor I Have no injection now, Im guessing its a conection just not plugged in so im gonna be chasing down the wiring harness to figure it out
I have 105-110 Compression on all faces I have perfect timing on my ignition and my spark is good, If i spray starter fluid into the air intake it fires right up for a few seconds
Anyone have any Ideas? Iv used search and have not found the answer thats why im posting to see if anyone else has any insight on my issue

Both EGI fuse have to be good.
ENGINE fuse has to be good.
If you hear the fuel pump run with the yellow fuel pump connector jumpered, then the ENGINE fuse is good.
All three plugs on the ECU have to be on. Plus the ORANGE in color plugs on the EM harness have to be connected up to the FRont harness. They are inside the passengers side of the footwell.
Check for spark on the sparkplugs. NO spark means the ECU isn't powered up nor the fuel injectors.
If the TACH needle BUMPS when cranking the engine, then the EGI fuses are good and the ECU is powered up and the CAS is plugged in and the MAIN RELAY is pulling in and the problem is a mechanical problem...as in fuel lines crossed up.

Before the engine swap the motor turned over and could run even though the coolent seals were blown
When I did the motor swap I did not mess with the ECU on the Passenger side
I did everything you said Hailers check both EGI Fuses, Engine fuse are good
I have spark at the plugs and I have set my timing on my CAS to the crank perfectly
Tach does Bump so Next Ill be hunting if I have something pluged in wrongly ill check my fuel lines and see if I can figure it out
Thanks Hailers for the help I bet you get these questions often

Two fuel hardlines on the engine. The most fwd one gets the rubber hose from the fuel filter IF the car is USA car. If JDM it's opposite.
Buy one can of STARTER FLUID. Spray into the air filter for two seconds. With a fully charged battery, try to start the engine. If it starts but won't stay running, it's a fuel delivery problem most likely. NEVER keep a engine running by spraying starter fluid into the air filter. Causes knock which is not good. Try spraying into a lawnmower engine while it's running and you'll hear knock.
It does not sound electrical since the tach bounces. Can't be a solenoid resistor disconnected because 88 don't have one. Same harness as you had before. No way you'd leave the elect plugs off the injectors.
Make sure the water thermo sensor on the aft side of the water pump housing is on. IF it's off, that will make for a difficult cold engine start. It'll start fine hot, but not cold. Geen plug with two wires.
AFM isn't used during START but is after 500 rpms have been reached. FYI thing. So it can't be the afm plug is off causing your problem.
Tomorrow.

As soon as you told me it was mechanical I swapped the 2 main fuel hoses the engine fires right up very smokey atm but Im sure thats mainly becauyse I sprayed MMO into the engine right before I fired it up to keep the Apex seals nicely lubed
Now onto my next Issue car fires up holds it own at 3k and soon as it drops below 2k it starts to sputter like its not getting enough fuel
