RX8 Seats in an 88 FC3S

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody has put RX8 seats into an FC3S yet? And how was the fit and how difficult was the installation?

If it does physically fit, you need to make a custom bracket for it.
I don't know of anyone that makes an adapter that you can buy for this.

I don't know of anyone who has done it to their FC.

The stock brackets on a FE are radically higher than a FC, you would have to create custom brackets and probably custom slides to make them work in a FC.

Installing any seats other than the stockers into a second gen is somewhat of an engineering exercise...especially the passenger side.
If you pull the P/S seat and look at the bottom, you'll see that not only are the two sides at different heights but the inboard side is also angled. This accommodates the hump in the transmission tunnel that the exhaust runs through.

This is also why the seattrack adjuster is different from one side to the other...the passenger side is a cable link and the driver's side is a hard wire.

I would assume that any seat (that physically fit) could be adapted but it's not as easy as you'd think.

Along this line, my driver seat is ripped up bad and needs to be replaced. Will any FC seat fit any other FC? AKA can i use turbo seats?

I found a Turbo car not to far away that is being parted out, but i don't know if it still has the seats or not.

Not true. There are a few fc's on here running around with rx8 seats. Do a search maybe?

its been done before every one is right you have to do alot of ****..
the oringinal thread of thinking of the dude had to cut all the bullshit from under the seat
and cut the bracket down 3-4 inches.

i wonder if you can get sliders and a sparco seat rail or soemthing and weld the sliders to the seat frame and bolt the slides to the sparco adapter. i personally wouldnt trust a weld from holding a seat in unless it a professional and even then.
lmk if you want me to search the thread for you

That will be alright...but the information is great! So that puts me back in the mindset of just hunting for some sparco seats to go ontop of my sparco brackets. Thanks everyone.
