rx7's are like red-headed step childs...

so anyway about my car first before i get to the problem.

its an 86 n/a, ive done the throttle body mod, removed the rats nest and air pump. has new fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, secondary fuel injectors (stock), pressure sensor was bad, i had an s5 pressure sensor laying around so i put it on, put in a newer computer, new coils from s5 parts car, added ground to fuel pump ground, added ground to main harness under upper intake on block, added ground to pressure sensor ground, added ground to negative terminal of battery to chassis, added grounds to all 4 ground pins on ecu. full exhuast, no cats, 5th/6th ports wired open

PROBLEM:

so a while back... like a few months ago i was driving and was nowhere near a gas station and my gas light came on. about 30 seconds later my car shut off ran out of gas. went and put gas in it, cranked right back up. SO, about 2 weeks ago im driving and i notice my car is on E, again im nowhere near a gas station... my gas light never came on but my car shuts off at a stop sign, so i go get some gas, put it in, try to crank it up and it starts up but shut off right after it starts up... does this all night, so i leave it where it is, does it again for 3 more days, got it towed to my house. took plugs out, cleaned them, disconnected fuel pump and cranked engine with spark plugs out/fuel pump disconnected to blow all the **** out... (after sever hours of combinations of disconnecting fuel pump, taking plugs out and cleaning them, i put car back together then i put car in first gear with clutch in, crank it and when it starts i pop clutch and away i go... fixed after 4 damn days... so know, 3 weeks later im at work and i have to go quick to the other shop to pick up a part for a customers car... get right in my car, crank it up, rev it up real quick once, put it right into reverse real quick, shift into first real quick and quickly speed off about 20 feet to the exit of the parking lot to the main road and stop and wait for traffic, right when i stop at the main road it dies on me... and does the same thing as before but this time it just will not stay running... just cranks up, and dies, and after a few times of that it will not crank at all untill i take the plugs out and clean them... i know its flooding but why? and why this time will it not stay running?????? ****... i was planning on getting my kit and tires for my rims and all but now looks like im gonna have to go ahead and get the T2 engine, harness and ecu... help id rather do body work first!!!

sounds kinda like a fuel pump issue to me? or clogged fuel filter, if you ran it outa gas a couple times you might have sucked up some stuff...

its got a new fuel pump and filter, and your right it might have sucked up some stuff... i smell gas like crazy so i know its flooded, took me 3 days to unflood it last time. and ill check the compression tomarrow since im off work. what is decent compression for an 86 n/a? around 180 maybe?

Just to throw this out there, if your engine quit while you pressed your brake, you may have a vacuum leak too.
