Dont bother, I put mine away for the winter. Buy a suburu or something else for the winter. I would be devistated if I ever totaled my car and in the new england winters that could possibly happen.

People say "they are like any other RWD car in the snow." Which is true, but the truth is, generally any RWD car sucks in the snow!!! My car's gone away, hello chevy tracker.

i drive my car in the snow its not as bad as you think as long as you have the proper tires, and if you throw a sand bag or rice bag in the bag its good. The only thing im afraid of is slowing down.

I've driven my '88 N/A as a daily driver for 2 years now year round. I put some Blizzaks rubber on all four wheels and I don't have a problem. In fact, I do better on the roads than nearly all 2WD pickups because of the decent weight dist. The tires don't handle so well on pure ice, but with any kind of loose snow covering I've been known to leave 4WD Subies in a cloud of white powder while they sit all four wheels spinning. I never worry about getting stuck.

My 4wd bronco failed me in the flagstaff snow once... my 10thAE hasnt yet. Just stay off the throttle and use the tranny and the brakes for slowing down... just feeeeeeel it out. Having no P/S helps to feel what the car wants to do and where it wants to go in snow

my next project (if i ever finish this one) is an old bronco i just saved from the crusher...i was wondering if i get another seven if i could put the body on the bronco frame with a 20b...now that would be a badass snowmobile! (even tho it never snows here,we do have lots of mud tho!)

My Slevin did damn good this last snow primarily because i am a good driver....but as long as you ease on and off the gass and keep good momentum and watch out for hills, other drivers and ESPECIALLY turns i am sure u will be fine.....This last snow i took her out for some fun.... my rear tires are bald as tubes so if i was on the gas too much her *** would just slide sideways...it was fun!!!!

ive driven my fc in snow, not as much as in that picture, but i have driven it. id say driving in the snow is more of a driver thing than a car thing. my SA has drag tires on it and it slides in the rain, so i just learned to drive slower and countersteer better. although when the backend of it breaks loose, its easier to control than a stock FC

has anyone ever put chains on their tires? it wouldnt work well on a lowered car with good wheel fitment, but at stock hights it might work. yeah ive driven my dads old 280z in the snow (we had no other car that day cuz our a6 was in the shop) OMG was that fun! here is a note for everyone who says that in deep snow it sucks......
ANY CAR driving in about a foot of snow will have a shitty time. my 626 got stuck in 11in and its lowered only an inch on eibachs.
This thred should be on if its able to drive in a few reasonalbe inches were most other cars are driveable. and it seems as though FCs are drivable.
for the point on owning a winter beater. a lot of us own FCs because we dont have much money. if i had enough for 2 cars id just get an FD.

Chains are illegal on most roads. THey tear the snot out of the road at anything more than about 20 mph, and most drivers arent disciplined enough to drive that slowly.

Chains are all over here in Oregon. They are prefered over the studs for most people because it usually only snows enough to matter over 1000 feet. I carry a set of chains, but I hate to use them because of how annoying they are to put on.
I drive all my cars in the snow. The hardest was my 300ZX because of the torque and very unforgiving LSD. My FB is hard because of the grabby performance clutch, but it is more then possible. By far my best sports car for snow driving has been my MR2... for obvious reasons.

The bottom line is RX-7s are fine in the winter as long as the driver is competent on ice in a RWD. Only draw backs are some days you won't be leaving the house when you get a good dumping as these do not make good plows.
If you like your car I don't suggest driving it in the winter. The salt travels into all the crevices and will destroy it from all directions. My last one was my only car and had served it's time going through at least 5 years of winter driving. The seats were falling through the floor from the salt in the carpet as well as underneath. You can beat the salt.
Chains are for ninnys. Just throw a slab of sidewalk under the hatch. Doesn't waste any space.
If it is in rough shape anyways have fun. You can do some crazy icecapade **** with these.
