Hi, I recently bought my first rx7. It's an 87 NA RX7 that has been sitting in a field for a couple years and did not run. I rebuilt the engine did the emissions and OMP delete and now it starts and sounds good it revs smoothly but it wont idle when i start it not giving it any gas it revs up to 2500-3000 RPM for a couple seconds then drops to 2000 RPM and stays there for about another 10 seconds then it just suddenly dies i can keep it going if i give it gas it just wont idle

congrats on getting it to start. what did it end up being?

for your current problem, i would say start by checking for vacuum leaks. when you're sure there are none, if it still behaves that way, start looking at sensors (BAC, temp for the ECU, TPS, etc.)
