RX7 vs SUPRA
A rivalry as famous as a Mustang vs Camaro I would think. There are battles going on in Japan between the FD & MKIV ever since they came out. Just wondering though, how does the FC compare with the OLDER supra of the same years? Anyone here owned both cars?... I know the Supra is a bigger car, but it had more HP and Toyota engines are suppose to be extremely reliable too. So how do they compare, what does the older SUPRA (single) Turbo got going for it?

here is my take on it... those Supras are Quick... and can be modded good and all just like sevens.. but they are soo huge and heavy,, they don't handle for junk really... my friend owns one and it can beat my N/A (not by too much though...) but my other friends TII beats his Supra (not by much...) and the TII is stock.. my friends Supra is modded pretty good with the basics...
Intake, exhaust.. suspension upgrades (that don't seem to do that much help hehe)
Supras = good at drag strip... Bad at autocross..
RX-7 = good at both =)

comparing the 86 RX-7 n/a to the Supra n/a is close, the supra has 200hp and beats the n/a by .1 second, but thats perfectly driven, the turbo model only added 32 hp @ 232hp the turbo weighs in at 3770lbs and runs a ~15.4-15.6, easily taken by a TII i would think

ahhh my furst car was a supra...a nice one at that. cost a good 2000$ more than my 7. i was impressed with it for the furst couple monthes until i drove my friends 7turboII. i couldnt afford a nice TII so i got me this 86 n/a...doesn't pull as fast as that supra but i would never go back. the steering on these 7s is so direct and its simply a much more attractive car dont sell yourself to corporate labels!

They are pretty good cars. There are no major problems with them aside from a head gasket issue that is easily fixed and shouldnt be a problem if you catch it before it F's up your motor.
Its more of a cruiser, where as the FC is a genuine sports car.
