Stock for Stock, an 88 944 turbo S will eat you alive ..

actually... it won't be a huge beating, however he WILL out pull you.. especially if you're at a rolling start...

There's a 951 (944 turbo) for sale a couple miles away from where I live for $7500. It looks like it's in immaculate shape, not sure what year it is. That's a damn good deal too. I'd buy it, but maintenance on those things is a serious bitch. You think a Turbo II is bad, 951's are nightmares.

A buddy of mine has a 944 and I've worked on it a few times. The car was a blast to drive, but definitely not worth the time and money spent on maintenance.

Stupid quirky German engineering. :p

Oh, 951's are pretty quick in stock trim, but for $500 you can chip it for a ~50 hp gain. Older Porsche's like this originally had a problem with turbo lag, all the chip does is fix that, and the results are amazing.

damn rich kids. You better be getting some pretty big HP mods to beat it. I have a lot of money into my TII and I think that I still would lose to one. I don't know about the 88's HP, but remove all emissions that you can exhaust intake DP and go for a run with him. If he beats you be prepared for him to talk **** for a while. Hehe I remember the high school racing days. get enough mods to make sure that you beat him, then he will "Respect the Wankle"

well man that sucks i wanted to show him the power of 1.3 liters and show it in his face. But hey last night I raced a stuck up kid in a yellow vert stang gt right in front of the big hang out spot in town. He left the strip after i told him that he got beat by a 1.3 liter. that raised my spirits
