i have 91 13b turbo engine, stock internals, stock injectors, stock intercooler.. walbro fuel pump, 2.5'' exhaust from front to back, no a/c, fpr, obx spark plug wires ... vs 1.8 vtec gsr engine with type r stuff in it.....although i saw it race a typer last weekend and lost by about 3 cars....

ill probably post a video of the race,,

predictions?

forgot to mention, i also have a t04 garret turbo,, and im running 8 psi

i predict if you race in the street you will both crash and burn for 30 minutes until the EMS arrive to pull you out, then you will die on the way to the hospital as the skin melts off your face. then your mom will cry.

if you take it to a local track and race, both cars are close and since you didnt mention and suspension upgrades or drag radials being used you should win having rwd and getting a better jump assuming you can drive.

good luck living.

street racing is for homos

I predict you'll come back on the site and tell us you won despite the actual outcome.

I own both a 1996 Integra GS-R and a 1988 turbo II. Both have light mods, but if your turbo is running half way decently it will walk all over the Honda.

No matter what anyone here on the forum thinks about street racing. Whether they hate it, love it or think its for "homos!" Atleast 90% of everyone who loves cars, works on cars, races cars, mods cars began their journey in this world or lifestyle with a few street races.

Have you never tested your cars ability vs. another on the street? In ANY situatioin? So that would make everyone whose ever driven an Rx7 of any year, of any model, modded or not a Homo I guess.

lol cavalier, did you see a bodykit on that car? He said it had one!! Street racing is for fukheads that are looking to get killed. Find a track somewhere to settle ur differences or next time I see you out on the road racing im gonna throw some spikes out in front of you, then watch you burn!! muhahaha

Doing a 3rd gear pull onto the highway is drastically different then street racing. You obviously have never experienced the scene.

30 cars following one another to a remote road where half of them crank their stereos and **** talk eachother IS gay. Trust me. I knew all of the homos who did it.

i think i'd have to agree with ^^. i got hooked on cars in High school and went to the street races in seattle all the time. i had a blast... but that was over 5yrs ago. since then things have changed.

back to the original thread. the RX7 will more than likely win, unless your a crappy driver. but you'd better be ready for any consequences of your actions while racing.

you'll probably win. 91 civics with gsr motors range from low 14's to high 13's. Probably lower depending on what "type r" stuff he has. He might take you off the line depending on what tires you guys have but he does have alot of tq. and lot less weight. But probably by the end of 2nd you'll be catching up and pulling ahead

I had a 92 EG Hatchback with a GSR Motor and some Mild All Motor Mods (Type R IM, Cams, Dual Valve Springs, Pistons, etc). The car was quick because the power to weight ratio. Its a tough call because I forgot how fast my S5 TII is stock. With an Intake, Full Exhaust and a HKS Fcon and an Exedy Clutch on my older S4 TII, I ran a 13.8 1/4 on a hot day (102 degrees) consistently.

For one thing, if you dont have an intake, a downpipe with pre-silencer, and a Fcon at the least, then it will be close if not the Civic winning (just my guess). With being safe...be sure to run the full 1/4 mile if thats what youre guesstimating for the race. Who knows...turbo catches towards the end. If you dont start pulling on him by end of 2nd beginning of 3rd...then chances are hes going to keep going.

It will be close. Ive owned both cars and decided to sell the hatch and went back to the FC (primarily because I love RWD, Rotary and the Power - if you unleash it that is).

Best of luck and be safe. Ill tell you now...an older Civic with Turbo beat me on the freeway...but thats with Boost Creep due to my small *** wastegate at the time. Ill be on the hunt for him until I can run him again...I know his head is big right now thinking he destroyed me. I couldnt do anything other than I shouldnt have tried knowing what my car was doing. Those things can be quick though...

I think everybody has street raced somebody at one point or another. I dont think its bad as long as you take an intelligent approach.

Going out with 30 other cars and making a big scene out of it is NOT intelligent. Racing with one friend in an abandoned road is a different story.

I would say find a track and do it there if you want it to be official though....

I think the people that drag race with cars that are built to turn are retarded. I wouldn't even waste my time with a Honda, race him on a twisty and show him how useless his car is..

I think some of you are forgetting that street racing and drag racing are two different things...you can't do a 0-130 pull at a 1/4 strip (unless your car runs 10s). As for the danger, a dog *** 5.0 or an old V8 that runs 11s racing on the street can be dangerous...a 13 second RX7 (assuming its in good mechanical condition) with an experienced driver and a deserted straight road...find something else to bitch about
