I have a 1988 rx7 fc and im in the process of re-doing all of the carpet inside. im changing it from its factory grey to black but i cant find a black carpet/plastic kit to replace the grey ones in the rear deck. anyone have any tips on what i should do or where to find one or will i just have to make it myself?

 

the rear deck stuff is very thin and its glued on, its kind of part of the deck lid. not easy to change but you could probably rip it off and buy thin material to do it yourself.
the trunk is easy to use the old one as a pattern and have a carpet guy cut and bind it for you so the edges stay nice. Being isolated from everything else it wont matter if its not a 100% match to the cabin stuff

 

the stuff in my rear is plastic and its in a ugly faded grey color and it kinda clashes with the black, i took it out because it was really dirty but i couldn't find anywhere that sells those plastic pieces behind the seats, i could re place it with just carpet but it wouldn't look as good because the plastic pieces smoothed everything out

 

Not sure if he is still in business but search for custom floor mats by JasonS here. He made one for my vert trunk from a template I sent him . Very good quality
