My view.......
The media blitz focus will certainly preach the virtues of the Wankle.
Interest in the Wankle will grow, but not everyone will be able to handle the RX-8's $30k+ price tag.
This should lead folks to re-discover the RX7.
Demand for used RX7's in excellent STOCK or near stock shape should grow as the average consumer might get a bit spooked by some of our favorite mods. Finally, reward to us that really take care of our Rex's.
Demand for the most desired (read T2, Verts, and 3rd Gens) will grow fastest. In sunny So Cal, I'm betting the Verts will lead the pack from a % stand point. But, certainly overall values should stabilize where they are now for several years.
If the RX8 popularity ends up what we all hope, might see some level of appreciation. But don't count on much more than 10-20% from current levels.

I think the cost of the cars is really unaffected by this.
we on the forum have more impact as to what these cars go for used. Think about it...theres 19,000 of us in this board. How many RX7's do you think we buy/sell each year?

I call 'em as I see 'em.
Either way, I'm totally looking forward to the reaction to the RX8. If you start seeing dealer mark ups like when the RX7 first came out in 1979 and the Miata in the 1980's, then the Wankle will truely have made it's come back and we will all be better off one way or the other.
Drive safe.
