VT RX7.com or Racing Beat race pipe

Hey all,
Have a question about the difference (if any) between the rx7.com and racing beat race pipe/downpipe.

Down Pipe for 86-91 RX-7 - Racing Beat

RX7.COM | 1986-1991 Rx7 Exhaust (330)7-ROTARY

I don't need to pass emission tests, so I am not worried about using this replacement. Besides maybe noise.
How much louder will it be, while still using the stock resonator and mufflers?
Are they both bolt on?

Thanks in advance.

The Racing Beat pipe is meant to go between the exhaust manifold and their pre-silencer. Without the pre-silencer you'll have make or get made something to go between it and your y-pipe. It won't bolt to any of the stock cats.
If this is the rx7.com race pipe you mean:

It goes from the manifold to the y-pipe replacing all the cats.

FWIW.

The RX7.com does not have a provision for the split air pipe.

Which is unnecessary with the cat removed.

The RX7.com piece will bolt to the factory exhaust and the racing beat will not, thus in my opinion, the rx7.com piece is superior.

Since the original poster has an S4 (87 GXL in the signature), there would be nothing to actuate the 5th and 6th ports unless he wires them open or figures out something (to many peoples issue) to actuate them.

So yes, it's necessary.

Neither has a provision for the split air pipe. Unless he were to buy the RB downpipe/pre-silencer combo. Then the pre-silencer has an provision for it. Otherwise he will have to fab something up for it.

Good catch.

Now tell me if I am wrong, as I am an S5 NA guy, isn't the split air pipe (emissions) different from where the car gets backpressure for the 5th and 6th ports?

I am not saying you are wrong, I genuinely want to know so that I don't spew misinformation in the future.

The Superflo does.

It just doesn't have a flange, you remove the flange with a pipe cutter and they will provide you with a little high temp hose. There is a fitting off the Superflo system at the catalyic converter.

Note instructions here:

Installing The Bonez SuperFlo Catalytic Converter

And yes, I have owned a Bonez Superflo. The Race Pipe has nothing. Noted here:

The same pipe, just actuate ports on the S4, emissions on the S5 iirc (never owned an S5).

No worries, **** happens.

On the later 1989-92 13B 6-Port engines, the actuators are operated by air pressure from the air pump.
