Rx7 1988 Carbon Monoxide build up

hey, im new here and i had a few questions. My FC seems to be leaking carbon monoxide somewhere. From within the car you can smell trails of it, outside it is very strong on take off. I was even feeling dizzy today, does anyone know what the factors could be leading to the leak or what it is, Thanx.

That's the symtoms of CO poisoning. Don't ask me how I know....

You really shouldn't drive the car until you find the leak. Make sure the exhaust system is in good order. That's the biggest concern. Check for big air gaps in the body around the exhaust, under hood and the back of the car.

Feel like an old man saying this but if it's making you sick it really not safe to drive.

CO is dangerous ****, definitly an exhaust problem, im assuming its stock exhaust so my bet is that the cats are prolly leaking...thats what happened to mine on both my rex's. if you have to drive i guess dont turn the ac on and drive with the windows and sunroof open

Another thing to consider...

I got rid of my problem by reinstalling the gaskets around the taillights. Thats a MAJOR source of exhaust. Best way to tell if its coming in from the taillights is to do this. Roll up the windows. If there is no exhaust smell, its coming from your taillights. Thanks to Jimmyv on this one.

Is he also running very rich??

Is he also running very rich?? I mean if the car is running right it shouldn't have that strong of a exhast smell. Could the exhast leak be above the O2 senser causing it to run that rich??
