hey guys,
i just bought an 88 convertible, with a dealer installed 13b several years ago.
The car drives and runs, but occasionally smokes on start up (smells like fuel smoke), and it always spins over a few times before starting. Also, last tank of gas i only made 14.5 miles to the gallon (granted with me driving it hard). IS that normal? When it idles, it kind of pops/missed occasionally at idle. it DID have the 7 plugs all the way around, so i got two 9s and put them where they should go. I replaced the air filter as well. Im not entirely sure what it is.

Also, another issue is that it has a weird vibration between 2500 and 3500, even if in neutral with the clutch in. What could that be ? it vibrates the interior pretty bad. Any ideas?
please make some suggestions as im stumped.

heck your fuel filter, also try and see if the engine is flooding this is probably the smoke and gas smell.

 

i was gonn try the fuel filter next, but it would seem that it would run lean if it needed a fuel filter, but im gonna try it anyway, seems like as good idea. what would cause it to be flooding? the plugs come out clean, like grayish/whitish, not black like they would if it was flooing or running really rich.
