Arrow rx-8 eshaft worth it????

guys, i'm going to order my parts from mazdatrix in the next two weeks. it's a S5 tII rebuild. since i'm a fan of my lightweight alu flywheel, i considered buying an rx-8 eshaft. that rx-8 shaft is approx. 350gramms lighter than my S5 one. and it "only" costs me $170! i think compared to the overall cost of about $2400 for all the parts, it would be worth it...
what do you think? and does the rx-8 shaft fit directly?

thx

well if your e-shaft needs replaceing then there's no reason not to go to the 8 eshaft. but get the 8 stat gears too cause the rear stat bearing, or something, is tapered on the 8 as opposed to the 7 not being.

it doesn't need to be replaced, i was just thinking of th opportunity to get a lighter shaft once the engine is apart anways, and the price is nice!
so it won't work with my gears? i'm going to use a pair of REW gears!

Your not going to notice that decrese in weight as much as say a set of lightened rotors. The bigger the circumference that the parts spins the more that your going to notice a reduction in weight.
