Arrow RX-7 Store Lightweight flywheel group-buy!

Just so you know, since group buys are not allowed anymore for competetive reasons, Jason at the RX-7 store gave me an amazing deal on my 9.5# flywheel. I'm sure if you got enough people together he would be able to offer them at a lower price for you. He didn't tell me what brand it was, and I couldn't tell really when it got here, but I believe it's the Racing Beat 9.5#.

This is for racing applications right?

I've heard the lightweight flywheel kills streetability and power between 1500-3500 rpms. Is that true?

Here's mine. I just weighed it on my digital scale, and it was 4.284Kg, which is almost exactly 9.5 lbs; actually it's just slightly under that.

I see. Well, it is The RX-7 Store's forum basically, so if this will help business I can understand why he's not allowing group buys anymore. Has anyone talked to Jason about this yet?

I don't have anything against Jason and wish him luck but its kinda foul to ban competition talk. The forum is great and all but if its part of the RX-7 store why is he asking for donations? People don't ask for donations to support their business do they?? Now if he wants to sell shares where investors can get a cut of the action then I'm down with that.

don't worry guys, i'll create another RX-7 forum that doesn't link to any store so there will be no competiton. the only thing is, i'll charge you $0.50 cents per post (j/k). But I agree with Ted and Wankelhead, the store should be seperated from the forum!!!

Hmmm... perhaps you should go to Summit and ask them to put the RX-7 forum on THEIR website... or in THEIR catalog. Or to Jegs, or Rotary Perfromance, or PFS, or anyone else that COMPETES with them. You don't see grocery store flyers telling you about the sale items offered by their competitors, do you?

Do companies PAY FOR their competitors advertising? Hardly...

The forum is great and all but if its part of the RX-7 store why is he asking for donations? People don't ask for donations to support their business do they?? Now if he wants to sell shares where investors can get a cut of the action then I'm down with that.
It is NOT "part of" the RX-7 Store. It IS partially supported by the RX-7 Store. In other words, Jason spends about $500 per month to support this site. In return, he uses it to advertise. If other vendors want to "kick in" to support the site in order to get advertising, that can be done-appropriate fees for different kinds of advertising can be arranged... Just contact Jason and Ryan about it. Otherwise, they don't have any business trying to advertise on here.

The donations made were to support the FORUM, not the RX-7 Store. Just because the RX-7 Store is the primary sponsor doesn't mean it is the only sponsor- I'm sure we have all seen banner ads from time to time- they pay for every click. That is ONE kind of advertising/sponsorship that is available.

To put it another way: Why should the RX-7 Store have to pay for advertising, and everyone else get it free? Sorry, that isn't the way it works. If a vendor wants equal advertising space, they can spend an equal amount of money, and time and effort supporting the site, etc.
