For the Rx-7 GURU's

I pull code of my engine today with an OTC unit from School, and it gave me code "12 Coil W/ignitor"
and that's the only code it has.
Now this is the symtoms that my car have.
1. L1,L2,T1 fires @ the same time w/T2 about 180 degree apart. I tried to set the timing and i can't. Re-stab the CAS and still the same result.

2. The car start for a few second the stall out and die. seem to be running very very rich. I assuming that because it's not in it firing order so i'm not burning all the fuel in the combussion so it got flooded.

3. Now i got 3800 rpm Hesistation. ( my ecu is not bolt on just connected.) can that be ecu ground problems??
I know a little bit about the system but still not enough experience. so help please.

***My car is street ported, w/ TBmod, 3"TID, All emissions removed.

L1, L2, and T1 should fire at the same time... but T1 will be 20 degrees off L1,L2 on the other timming mark. T2 will be 180 off.

By fireing @ the same time i meant that it's all ( L1,L2,& T1) firing @ 5ATDC (Yellow Mark on the pulley) instead of L1&L2 fires @ 5 degree (yellow mark) and T1 @ 20 degree (RED mark). Which is 15 degree apart the T2 @ 180 degree after T2.

I know we asked this before, but are you making these adjustments at or around 800 RPM?

ya over 1000rpm or so I don't think it has any split and will fire the same.

it shouldn't be the coil or ignitor as the ECU tells them when to fire.

since you are getting a coil error. maybe the ecu default is to try to fire all at the same time? I don't know. pull your battery cable off and reset the codes and see if that fixes anything untill the code comes back. or if it comes back.

As of right now, it will not idle by itself. i'll have to kindda keep my foot on the gas. So it doesn't have base timing?? meaning if the car doesn't idle I can't set my timing @ all??..wel that's kindd sucks..i though that, that might be why i'm running rich.
But I'll replace the trailing coil to see what it does.
and swap TPS with the other one i have.
Where is the ECU ground???
Thanks C The noob

ECU grounds are on top of the engine. There's a free fsm online.

Yeah, if your modulating your idle with the throttle, in order to maintain a good idle, your not getting an accurate timing reading
