Runs...Dies...Then won't start for a while

I'm really confused about this problem...

My car (88 GXL Manual) had been running great for quite a while. Then after sitting for a couple days, I went out for a quick drive, but didn't make it very far. It was sluggish and almost stalled when starting out. It kept running while it was in gear and moving, but I came up to a stop sign, put the clutch in to coast to a stop and the RPMs dropped to 0...car died. So I'm sitting at the stop sign and it won't start up again, it'll turn over like a champ, but no starting.

So I walked home (car didn't make it too far, so it wasn't a long walk) and came back about 1.5 - 2 hours later with some tools. Popped the hood and looked for anything obvious, didn't see anything so I tried starting it. At that point it fired right up and seemed strong, so I drove it home. On the way home it was still sluggish and after parking and letting it sit and idle (rough and at low RPMs) for a bit, it died again.

Went out again today, started up, drove around the block, parked, let idle, and it died...won't start again. It's a viscious cycle!

Any ideas on what the problem could be? Let me know if you have any queastions I can answer. Any help is appreciated, thanks,

Justin

wide out in the blue, but really rich? causing to flood out. maybe bad sparkplugs that aren't firing?

if worse comes to worse, you could always push start it when it dies--easiest way to clear out the flooded gas and start it up. Check the injectors for leaking and make sure you use new o-rings when you re-install them. but check your plugs and wires first.

Replaced all spark plugs, didn't fix it. Any other ideas before I have to dig down to the injectors?

Is there a way to check if it is indeed flooding?

thanks,
