Arrow Running Straight Downpipe....

I want to run a straight downpipe on my Turbo II. I had a friend that took his exhaust off to do work on his car and it sounded amazing. The sound of the turbo itself strikes fear into the heart of any honda in a 2 mile radius. But with my friend being timid and weakhearted he soon put his exhaust back on. Even with my custom downpipe and 3inch all the way back exhaust(which is welded together dammit), it didnt sound as badass. my question is if there are any real dangers to doing this? Im going to have a shop make a extra little flange that would make whichever downpipe i get point towards the ground more. or better yet get a downpipe that point straight at the ground(a link to such a marvolus thing would be grand.). im not worried about the cops, the neighbors or the enviorment, just the health of my car . any input would be great.

PS- Ive heard rumors of a 3 1/2 inch downpipe. Do they mass produce these or is this another custom job?

You will get boost creep and possibly blow your engine. Be careful and tune the engine for both with fullexhaust and with open downpipe. Oh, and watch out for the cops. I have hit as high as 11 psi with the downpipe open (HKS)

you think it will creep more than my straight 3inch exhaust now? i can barley hit ten most of the time as is...but good point. maybe i should invest in some form of wastegate porting or boost controlling

I've got glaspacks on the TII with an afermarket cat. They still muffle and the car sounds SOOO sweet.

Nice rumbling at lower RPMS and a nice "wzzzzAAAAAAAAA" at higher rpms.

I though glasspacks would pretty much melt on a rotary?

I would have though the same thing, but they seem to still work and they're not too loud either.

It may become a fire hazard, especially if the car backfires.

If anything, put a dump pipe out the passenger side after the wheel with the proper heat shielding.
