running on one rotor above 3800 rpm

i dont have the 3800 hesitation. when i hit 3800 it doesnt "stumble" for a sec. and then pick back up.... it just craps out. like there is an invisible rev limiter at 3800 rpm. and it sounds like it switches from running healthy and pulling hard on both rotors to running on one rotor right when i hit 3800. the car is a 1986 base model non-turbo. i have put a new computer in, new fuel pump, new plugs, new secondary injectors, added ground to fuel pump, main engine harness under intake, pressure sensor, throttle body, all 4 computer pins, and 2 extra 4 guage wires from negative battery to strut tower. only mods i have are full exhuast (5th/6th are wired open) no emissions whatsoever, throttle body mod, and some accessories to positive terminal of battery (amp, and glow gauges both through a fuse wired directly to battery <gagues through a switch>) . so yeah... basically it sounds like it runs on one rotor when i hit 3800 rpm. and another weird thing. it does the same exact thing sometimes when i go into 3rd gear only. i know when its about to happen becuase whenever 3rd gear grinds or goes in sloppy (wich it does every once in a while probly about 30% of the time) it will do the same thing. feel like it runs on one rotor until i quickly take it out of 3rd, put it in 4th and let clutch out for like a second or two then put it back into 3rd it will be fine... like if i granny shift into 3rd it will do it. run on one rotor i guess, but if i pop the clutch or let out real hard in 3rd its fine. so why do you think my car would be doing these two things?

I would honestly go over those injectors again. One my primaries was cracked and not connecting properly. If a primary is not online, the secondaries get used as the primaries. The secondaries don't always fire on at 3800, if your not on the throttle real hard. My vehicle could go past 3800 as long as I was light on the throttle and the motor didn't have alot of load on it.

sounds like a seconary injection problem.... if you replaced the ecu and injectors check to see if there is any damage to the wiring...

no damage to the wiring... so you think it could be my primaries then? so if the primaries arent working properly or are damaged then the secondaries get used as the primaries?? hmmmmm.... see the reason i replaced the secondaries was becuase when i first bought the car and didnt know about the setup of an rx i though the secondaries WERE the only fuel injectors, becuase those were the only ones i saw... and as the car sat for 2 years before i revived it i thought i would replace them, and i learned later that there were 4 injectors, so i did not replace the primaries. can i switch the primaries out with the secondaries? they both flow the same on an n/a right? ill get my stethoscope out and listen wich ones are clicking when the ignition is on...

Well maybe I have it wrong then... I thought the secondaries were the ones that are a huge pain in the *** to get to. If the secondaries are the ones that are easy to see on the fuel rail... then ignore my post.

you are not running on one rotor above 3800rpm. You are whta it seems like flooding the secondary ports out that automaticaly open at that stage. you have some sort od configuration prob with your ports. I would close your ports again to see if that takes care of the prob. If it still persists then you are in dire need of injectors.

Don't know about turbos, but on NA's, the injectors can be moved around, they are all the same. (Primary and Secondary, not year)

91very. my injectors are brand new. i know its not flooding out becuase its not acting like its flooding out. it just hits a wall and the engine changes pitch in sound, like it quits running on both rotors and only operates on one and will not at all climb above 3800 rpm.
