Running with no exhaust - any problems?

Besides being really loud, are there any problems driving an fc n/a without an exhaust? I'm still waiting for my exhaust and I'm sick of seeing the car on jackstands. But I'm worried that it might not be safe for the engine. Thanks!

well... i'd be really surprised if the car was much louder. one of the mufflers has already rusted off and there are numerous holes in the stock piping already. what we were really worried about is some kind of mechanical issue... (don't some engines require a certain amount of backpressure or something?)

really we just want to take the car out to a rx7 meet tomorrow (junky as it is). it's not going to be driven around daily with no exhaust.

if you don't mind:

a) your car burning to the ground because of the flames licking your passenger side tire
b) the extreme lack of power due to no back pressure
c) going deaf because it WILL be louder than you think, not really when idling but when revved
d) taking a chill pill and waiting

it isnt that bad. i did it for two weeks straight waiting for all my exhaust components to come in. the car just feels like crap basically, doesn't pull nearly as much, and of course its loud as hell, but i dont regret doing it

I don't care about deafness...I just care about dying from the fumes! But yeah, I think I'll wait just a bit longer. *sigh*
