Question running lights problem!!!help!!

I'm having a problem with my running and brake lights.

everythings working but the running lights.turn signals and reverse lights all work fine but I'm not getting any power to the running lights.

I've changed the bulbs. tested the wires.I just can't figure it out.

any help would be great...

as covered in the FAQ for FC sticky thread (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/faq-fc-frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-a-181219/) at the top of this section:
My tail lights/ parking lights don't work, but my head lights do
The light switch connections may have burnt out. Check the back of the light switch.

thanks Icemark.

I was thinking the same thing. the thing that gets me is the everything but the center bulbs work.turn signals and reverse lights still work.

wouldn't the brake lights still work if it was the switch?

Probably un-related, and a misadjusted brake switch or if it is a S4 possible a bad or partially unplugged CPU (for the brake lights).

does the Horn work?

I've got the same problem. If I fiddle with the switch then I can get them to turn on, I just have to wedge a key in there to keep it in that exact position or it'll go off.

EDIT: I don't drive at night much really, so it hasn't been a problem. I'll just need to either fix it or get a new switch unit before I take any long trips.

If the switch and harness are not too badly burnt, then you could probably wire in relay to solve the problem and increase current handling.

Hmm. Good to know, thanks. I'm not very electrically-inclined but being at a tech school, I'm sure I could scare up a solderer.
