S5 n/a: Running fine before smog, sputtering after smog, any thoughts?
Basically what the topic says.
I took my car to get smogged this morning, running fine, everything well.
It was passing the emissions tests, and then halfway through, the dude stopped the test, got out and said "your car won't stay running."
Sure enough, I drove the car home sputtering the whole way. (the sputtering started to go away when I was driving home.)
Stock emissions with a bonez superflow (installed yesterday)
Borla catback
Cone filter intake
If anyone has any thoughts about this, or what I can do to ensure this doesn't happen again, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Compression is 90 front 100 rear.
Plugs are the city plugs (hotter heat range)
oh, and after taking it out for another cruise, the car is running how it was before the smog test. :/
I think it might just be smogger technician error... bastards don't know how to do anything correctly... (they put the front wheels of my vw vanagon on the dyno last time i had it smogged)

same thing happened to me, what happened is that they didnt use a fan in front of your car.
the engine got hot, and your tune goes to ****... i have an electric fan, which is ok for idleing, but doesnt even come close to air flow at testing speeds( real world airflow on streets at speed).
EDIT: i have the airbox cut so that it sucks more air, but it sucks hot air -- especially when the car isnt moving and having a load put on the engine. so your intake is sucking that hot engine bay air, then the car started to run better because slowly the engine bay temps went down on the way home.

The smog tech put the front wheels of my FC on the dyno up in Massachusetts. Genius.
Then he only put a sniffer up one exhaust pipe and got practically zero readings. Genius.
Oh well. Time to move to a non-emission state, eh?
