running issues???

Angry running issues???

ok my 1991 rx7 n/a will start and run but at 3000rpm then when its warmer not at a specific temp and you put it in any gear with the clutch in it will idel at 2000rpm not real low but its weird ive checked the timing and the sensors but can someone tell me whats wrong and can someone help me please and tahnk you

That is pretty normal. When you start the car in gear it deactivates the accellerated warm up process. If you leave the car in neutral than it will do it's normal process.

oh i know that but why does it idel at 4000rpm i want it to idel at 750-1000 rpm that would be nice but once its even warm it does it i think it computer issue buut idk

for it to idle at 4k that means there is a lot more air going into the engine than normal, probably a vaccume leak or the TB is stuck open too far.

i have an hks air filter should i just take it off and replace the stock unit?

I don't think that would matter, search on here for a nice easy way to find a vac leak. It could also be that your thermowax is stuck open, keeping the car stuck in warm up mode, or your throttle body stuck open as well. It's probably not the computer.

The thermowax will only up the idle speed by a few hundred RPM. If he was complaining his idle was at 1300 then that could be the issue.

The filter won't effect that. You have some kind of leak or your TB is stuck open.

ok i just checked if their was a leak by spraying either on the motor while running and on all the lines and the motor didnt speed up at all so im way lost ??? but thank you guys for helping me this far
