Running hot, what could cause it?
Alright, I changed my water pump & thermostat. I have flushed my radiator & added a 50/50 mix of water/coolant. I am out of ideas. My car ran nice & cool until my water pump went. Can't find any leaks at all or bad hoses. Please help. Thanks.

Man mine used to neer even get above 1/4 way up. Now I let it warm up before I went to work & it was at 1/2 in about 5 minutes or less. I have to figure out what it is. This sucks. And now that its been getting so how my battery is not holding a good charge. Someone help. I just replaced the alternator like 3 days ago.

I saw that you changed yours not too long ago. Had some questions for you if you don't mind. How much did it cost you? How did you know it was bad? O ya, did it make your car run cooler? Could I just buy an electric fan to fix this, I figure upgrading would be better money spent. Thanks.

I was told to get the engine to operating temp then shut it off and see if you can turn the fan. There should be tension if it is ok. There is no tension on mine and it runs real hot. Stupid clutch is almost $200! Arrggghhhhh.

I've had two n/a FC's, and normal operation was 1/2 way up on the water temp guage on each of them.
If you're overly concerned then I suggest you install a more acurate, aftermarket guage to monitor the temperature. I'm thinking about doing this myself. It's good insurance.

Man for $200 I would get an electric fan. I am going to change my radiator cap & see what happens. The after market gauge would be a waste because I know my engine is actually running too hot, its affecting my alternator. If I take my radiator out think I could give it a good cleaning? I don't have any leaks and my car just started this. Used to run nice and cool highest of 1/4 the way up. Need help with this. Thanks.

I haven't done anything on mine yet. Still looking for a cheaper way out. I thought about an electric fan. What about bolting a fan directly to the shaft that the clutch and fan bolt to? I'm sure that there would need to be some spacers to clear the belts, but I think this will work. You can get flex fans from Summit for lett than $30.

I am not sure its my fan even. My fan works & its blows air, I can feel that. I have the bottom protectant panel off and I guess that lets all the air go straight down, I dunno. Hope thats all it is. Gotta see I guess.

Yeah I have all the plastic on mine still.
Mine is the clutch for sure. It spins then the car is running, but not nearly as fast as it should.
It is super easy to check it-- when the car is hot shut it off and pop the hood and see it you can manually spin the fan. If there is no of little resistance the clutch is shot.

Well there is some resistance & I felt it while the car was on and damn it blows alot of air. Could I have a clogged cat/precat? I would think that would make you run hotter. I can't seem to break this fever on my car. Put the panel back on the bottom & still is hot. Wtf man. Really need to figure this out ASAP. This is my only running car, and can't have it break down.

On mine I though it was the cat...replaced that....it still over heated...it turned out to be the mufflers....one blew out one day and it stoped over heating....so a clogged exhaust could very well be the problem....
