I believe it was "Fifer" who posted the 2:07 (I swear he said 2:04), and yes, it was on a relatively free lap.  HoMan runs a consistent 2:10.  I've clocked top-running ITS FC's at 2:10 on a very crowded track (i.e. race), which could drop these times down into the 2:05 or faster on an open track.  Yes, Alex is that fast.

I have a feeling this has been asked in previous posts/threads, but what is DTSS? I have never heard of it before... ?
And sweet pics... Glad to see some guys wanting to take their car to the track
If you get some videos, I'd like to see.... and your car... is really clean

Alex is fast. 2 seconds faster than Dr. Ho to be exact. Be sure to mention that to Dr. Ho if you talk to him...

Mazda claims to have applied for more than 100 patents on their Dynamic Tracking Suspension System independent rear suspension. With DTSS, the rear wheels become an active component of the steering system, changing from toe-out during low lateral force cornering to toe-in for extra stability during high lateral acceleration cornering situations and to reduce lift throttle over steer which had been a problem on the 1st generation. Similar systems are found on Porsche and other German manufactures vehicles.

Yo,
I was pointed to some more pics over at ClubSi. Special thanks to Dynamo who took the photos, let MtnRacer (Steve) borrow his helmet, and provided me with a nice passenger on one session. *wink*
My car:
Yes, I like giving the Peace sign. Sue me!!
Todd's (tehRicey on ClubSi) hybrid CRX:
FWD vs. RWD track Battle-oh!!
Me at speed with the nice passenger:
Both Todd and I had young ladies in the car for our final battle session...I'm suprised either of us didn't wreck given the infamous "Show Off Factor" that has caused many a wreck. *grin*
Here's a thread from ClubSi on Todd's CRX:
http://forums.clubsi.com/showflat.ph...=&fpart=1&vc=1
He just did an untuned dyno at 163FWHP and 108TQ, and he was running 100 octane at the track. Todd would pull me on the straight...not a huge amount, but it didn't seem like an extra 23HP's worth. Must be something with the RX-7's aero and gearing package.
Anyways, we had a great battle. He would pull me on the straights, but once the corners came up...I was up in his tailpipe. *grin* It was cool.
Oh, and to all you Honda Haters...get over it. They make great power, and not all the people that drive them are Ricers. We all can get along and enjoy our cars together.

because I picked up my wife during my last session and I had been near flawless all day (no major mistakes) and then 1 lap b4 my session was over I spun out in 11 at Sears and was black flagged. I was totally tryin to catch a Mustand Cobra and i guess i was showin off.
oh and ROTARY RACER, I almost had tears in my eyes read the most flattering words ever "Dude I might have to promote you to honorary GTUs Shouting out your love for the N/A. Preach on brotha." When I bought my car I thought that I was gettin a GTUs which is what I wanted. I was confused between the s4 GTU and the s5 GTUs. Well, I have been trying to make my own ever since. I even made sure they didn't put the GTU decal back on when i had it painted, but out of respect for the GTUs I didn't put any decals back on. I didn't want to be a fake one. But thanx for the HONARY GTUS. Totally made my day. I just need an lsd now and 4.3 gears.

evil sunroof is right!!!
that thing never worked right. You guys should see the inside of my car it looks so tuff with no headliner. my friend and i saw a picture of a white stripped 2nd gen and went of that night and stripped everything we could. we were just unboltin stuff and the sunroof fell right through. it was hilarious.
i have spent a lot of time tryin to put some of the stuff back in but it still looks cool.
I bet i took over 150 pds out of that car.
Rock on N/A sevens!

Well, I have some work to do for sure. It's great to see local RX7 enthusiasts running such excellent times. What sort of results have you guys had in race conditions? What are some of the races you've run, and how did you guys stack up? I'd love an opportunity to ride along some time. Anyway congrats again on the great times. Best regards to all, Carl Byck
