Running the 1/4 mile in 4 days..any tips for the last min hp??

Well my car is completely stock and i am going to take out the air filter (stock)...i was wondering if there is anything else i can do..i know of lots of other turbo cars u can do free mods by playing with the fuel system etc..A car with a chevy spint ran 15 pounds on his stock turbo and it put down 196 fwhp and 156 Frontwhp..i think the front wheel hp is right..i kinda forgot..all he did was change his settings which i also forgot which settings were changed...I dont wanna blow a seal or anything..so do u think just taking out the air filter is the only safe change to make??do u guys have any drag racing tips either??

thanx

Take off your A/C and P/S belts, if you haven't already. Take out the spare tire, and any bullshit weight you have. Take a slam before you race. (Haha.)
Drag a lot in one night, if you can. You'll be better by the end of the night.

edit: i just noticed i'm a "Rotorite" and not an "exhaust leak" anymore. Woo!

Just remove the whole stock airbox, up to the AFM. If you're worried, put some metal screen door over it.

I know this might be given but take everything out of your car that you dont need. I took out all my change, CDs, tools, jumper cables, and some other stuff. It was around 50 pounds of stuff that shouldnt be there. Go to the track with less than a 1/4 tank of gas and be sure that your oil is full so you can get good cooling. Drain your washer fluid too if you want. All this stuff may sound petty but collectively it can help you out a little.

I'm also going to run my first 1/4 mile this Friday, I have a DP, HKS intake, FCD, and catback. I was wondering if it would hurt anything to remove the main cat and put a straight pipe just for the day. I don't want to remove the air pump and the tubing that runs to the cat just yet, I was wondering if this would hurt anything. My Autometer boost gauge reads only 7, yet i think stock should be 7.5. I think my cat is clogged and this would help me find out if that is the case.

I've heard of guys removing their alternators on race day. This would gut some exess weight. (just make sure you keep a spare battery on ya)
