Run without a bolt on the tranny mount??
Hey guys,
So im still replacing my tranny mount and i bolted everything down except one bolt. its one of the 4 bolts that go thru the crossmember to the frame.
The problem with that bolt is that it will screw in a lil bit then when i start torquing it, it jus stops and it falls out of the hole. I think the threads are messed up in the hole, since i got new bolts today that fit the specs.
I was wondering, if i could jus ignore the problem and i should be ok. I really dont know what else to do with it now. any suggestions??

If you know what size the hole is, and the thread pitch (and how deep) you could tap the hole again so that the bolt would fit. I wouldnt want to run around without that bolt for too long, but it should be alright if youre just going to the store to get the tap.
If you ignore it and your tranny falls off...that would be really bad. If you tap it, youll probably have to get a bolt thats one size bigger than the one you currently have, but it will at least be attached as firmly as it was before hand.

If you're carefull you can probably repair the existing threads with the correct size tap. Chances are it's only the begining of the threads that is messed up. Once you get past that it should be smooth sailing.
