I beg to differ, I think it sounds very nice. What else do you have done to the car to make it sound like ****. I wish I had a sound clip right now, but alas I don't. I believe I've already put up a review in the parts review section. Check there

Raspy eh? Well if it sounds raspy on a 10ae its probably gonna sound like *** on an n/a. Maybe its the downpipe? Did your friend have a cat as well?
