royal purple oil

Hi All, I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with Royal Purple before. My friends dad teaches at UTI, a perf. school here, and has access to a dyno. Anywho, he's got a '73 GTO that he drags and runs 12's with it. They recently dynoed his car at 308 horses at the wheels. Then they changed the oil to Royal Purple and put new plugs in. His dad then dynoed the car to see if there was any difference. It dynoed at 316 at the wheels! thats 8 rwhp just from oil. I know he's not bs'ing either, but i haven't seen the actual slip.

You stated that he changed the spark plugs too which means that if his old ones were going bad then he could have also gained some lost hp, I have heard of oil making horsepower before though..

I've heard nothing but good about Royal Purple....and have also heard of lots of dyno results showing horsepower gains...shiet, it better give you some gains, stuff is like 4.50 a quart or something (maybe more?).

Ya Racing Beat recommends it and everyone knows they know their ****. How much does your dads car weigh? It is running 12s with 300rwhp? TIIs can barely do that...
