BTW you can drift a corner slower than a posted speed

If you absolutely MUST drift your car, by all means do it somewhere that your mistakes don't have the opportunity to cost someone else their life. A life is hard to come by. Don't take it for granted.

There is a huge difference between taking a corner slightly above the suggested (yes yellow means caution) speed, and coming around the corner sideways. Let me ask you something. What happens when you're drifting around a corner on a public road (even below the speed limit), and your LSD locks, causing your car to immediately catch traction, throwing you into an oncoming vehicle? What happens when you kill an innocent child in the aforementioned vehicle? Get a ******* grip man.

i know A LOT of drifters, prolly 100+ people in my area. none of them have ever had a collision with another moving car, well let alone a person.
A lot of people say the same sort of things that you are right now, but its been my experience that most people if they were thrown into a car behind me just watching, the only words that come out of there mouth was "wow that was cool" Same things goes about speeding on the highway, everybody always says "your stupid for going so fast you could kill somebody" but if they were in their car right next to me, chances are they would be right next to me 100+mph.
Everything of coruse needs to be done in moderation. if your in a neighborhood just after school got out, yeah... you shouldnt be drifting. If your getting onto the freeway and theres lots of traffic out, you prolly shouldnt be drifting onramps. But if its obvious that the roads are mostly clear, and you have a clear sight of where your going to be going.. then you can kinda assess the situation and come to a proper conclusion, wether its safe, or not.
as for being thrown into an oncomming car. most people know not to drift on a 2 lane road, with cars comming at them. ****, most people would slow down below posted speed limit, if their on a corner and a car is also comming around the corner.
Ive never been thrown into the opposite lane. ive gotten understeer that would usualy throw me to the outside of the road. When the rear end catches traction, the car swings to the way your tires are pointed, are you saying your going to drift with your tires pointed INTO the turn?
i didn't read all of this, but I would also suggest cleaning the fuel injectors, changing the fuel filter, and address the PD. 150,000 mi, its time to change it, unless you want a fire!
LOL Edit: surprised no one mentioned the fire extinguisher!

You've done quite an effective job of ignoring my point, and you've even managed to make yourself look like a jackass in the process. Congrats. I don't really give a **** how experienced you think you are, because real experience will teach you differently. Your overly zealous attempt to defend this reasoning by deferring to your ability, also serves to convince me that you are simply not experienced enough to understand even why your attitude is dangerous and unacceptible.
Bottom line is, you never know when something will malfunction or break. Even if you do everything within your ability to avoid an accident, things happen. It shouldn't come at the cost of a life. The best way to prevent an accident, is not doing stupid **** on public roads.
And btw I'm plenty experienced in handling vehicles of all types and sizes. My experience has fortunately taught me some things. Maybe you'll get there some day.

Like i said already.. at least where i live. theres been NO car vs car or car vs person drifting related accidents. there has been car vs curb, and a couple car vs mountain, but thats a whole nother story.
perhaps what im saying sounds dangerouse.. but if you met me, rode with me, anything like that, i can tell you one thing right now, your mind would be changed.
Its dangerouse for people to practice beginning drifting on habited public roads, and/or in traffic. but otherwise its all just the same as taking a corner faster than the advised speed.
hope i dont sound mad, or anything like that, as thats not my intention.

I'm sure there are plenty of drifters on this forum who will gladly tell you otherwise. Whenever you're pushing the limits of your suspension geometry, you have to anticipate the inevitable failure of a component/circumstance. That's like a motorcyclist claiming he safely maneuvers populated curves @ 80+mph and not accounting for the fact that a tiny rock in the road could send him careening into an oncoming vehicle.
Bottom line is **** happens. Don't provoke it by acting stupid.
*edit* I'm also very familiar with where you're from. I'm from there as well...
