Rounded front bolt
Rounded front bolt
I've rounded the front bolt trying to get it off. Yes i used the correct size socket, but i broke one socket and that probably did the most damage as it spun around the bolt cracked.
Now i can't get the damn thing off and i need to change the front seal so it'll stop leaking oil.
Any suggestions?
This is all Kevin Lander's fault...LoL
He changed the front cover on the engine when i got it from him, so he must have used orange (or is it red?) loctite and now i'm screwed! LoL

I just tore apart an engine with the exact same problem. A 3/4 impact wouldn't even get it off. I ended up cutting off the pully boss so i could get the front cover off then i started cutting pieces of the washer on the bolt until it broke loose. But you'll have to get a new pully boss, bolt, and brass washer.
I had the same problem a few times. take the car outside take the hood off for more room. Take a cheap socket fo one size smaller and hammer it onto the bolt till it is stuck then take either a breaker bar ar a standard wrench with a 5-6 foot pipe attached (i prefer the latter) and rachet away. It usually makes a loud pop as it breaks free, a great feeling btw. ive taken off all kind of stripped bolts like this and never damaged anything. And for future refrence and inpact wrench will strip bols faster than anythign else. Becasue fo its rapid back and forth movement it just strips off another layer rather than gripping and removing like the method i stated above.
Get a big impact wrench with an impact socket. Don't use cheap sockets because they can get stuck on if you put enough pressure or make the bolt worse.
On two of my engines, it took a 1000lbs torque impact wrench but the last engine wouldn't budge at all. Even my 550lbs impact didn't budge any of them. Hauled the last engine to a 76 gas station. Lets just say, their 3/4 impact wrench with 1300+ lbs of torque finally loosened it.
You can try heating it up with an oxecytylene (or however you spell it) or Mapp gas torch too but I never tried it. I used a propane torch and it didn't do anything.
