Rough Loping idle after changing Vac Hoses

To start out let me say that I did search.
I had a water line break on my throttle body and the only way to get it off was to take off the UIM and VDI. Well as I got all of the upper intake off all of my vacume hoses were bad so I replaced them. Now after starting the car today it has a loping idle like it is bp'ed. At idle it sounds like its running on one rotor but when driven it runs smoother and has ok power. The idle is also really high 2000-2500 and I can't adjust it. If down at 1000 it gets really rough and dies if I don't pump the throttle a little
Does this sound like a vac problem I think that I got all of the lines run to the right place. Could It be the timing got off somehow. Also sometimes when going down the road at low rpm's the car loses power and the check engine light comes on. This is my only car and I need it running by tomarrow!
Thanks for any help
Alex

Yea sounds like a vacuum leak. Get some starter fluid and spray around the area to find it.

Thanks I'll go try that. It smells hella rich even at full temp also. What is causing that, same thing maybe?

One thing at a time. Sometimes when you fix one thing all the other problems tend to work out.

i dout if this would cause it to run that bad, but there are directional check valves (a small plastic cylinder in line) in some of the lines that go to the throttle body. make shure there in the right places, direction, and working. but my bet is on vac leak to be that bad.

Got It fixed and runs great thanks for the ether tip. It was the manifold and BAC gaskets.
