RB exhaust, how do I keep it safe?

I've got the RB full 3 inch exhaust getting ready to put on my t2 s5, it is bone stock, I understand that the turbos will now boost easier, my question is do I need to control how much boost it will get, or will the car just not boost beyond a certain psi, whats a safe psi to run and what precautions can or do I have to take to make this safe? Pop off valve? Better blow off valve? Boost controller?....honestly I dont know what any of these do except the blow off valve or do I even need them. Also I dont have a fcd for the car yet, so is it safe to run the exhaust without it?

Even on S5? I thought the wastegates on s5's pumped more air with the dual wastegate ports?

you might still see some boost spikes even in the S5.

Look into an FCD to avoid fuel cut

Look into a fuel controller if you plan on boosting past 10 psi.

Some have recommended that the secondaries be upgraded if you're going to boost 12 psi ( 14 is reaching the limit of the turbo)

At the very least an FCD is an absolute must. It would be foolish to run a 3" exhaust without one.

1) Get an FCD
2) Port my wastegate

so then

a)How does he keep it from boosting to over 10 psi?
b)Is that it?

quit confusing the hell out of this thread...

yes a 3" with a decent condition S5 turbo will spike beyond 10PSI and pop the motor.

what you need to do is install the main cat back into the system or port the wastegate. there is other methods to correct for the additional boost but those are the 2 safest suggestions one can give.

thank you, so nothing I can do to stop the boost from going above a certain level? I mean I will definetly port the wastegate before installing but I still dont feel comfortable with running 14=15 psi, how can I prevent that?

If it's the stock turbo, you def. don't want to run 14-15 psi of boost. I believe the stock turbo doesn't provide any more power after 11psi anyways; to control it, get a boost controller and dial that baby in just the way you like it, while you are at it get a s-afc too so that you can tune it just right. Or get an r-tek! r-tek is probably the better way to go there... but if you have a s5 tII, u r screwed cuz ther is no rtek chip for us guys! ARRRRGH!!!

if the wastegate is too small, no boost controller will lower your boost. Period.
