rough idle with connector jumped
year: 87
model: turbo II
specifics: all stock.
I was trying to dial out some low idle that ive been having. i know the proper speed is 750, but closer to 850 is a little smoother in my car due to harmonics etc. i read the fsm and it says to jump the two wire service connector in order to adjust the bac.
when i jumped the connector and started the car, it barely ran. it was trying to stall out and trying to die but kept running. when i backed out the bac adjuster screw, i found that it took 9 and 1/2 turns to get it to idle, not smoothly, but idle. also the speed didnt ever get over 600ish rpm.
my first though was to adjust the throttle stop screw a tad to get the idle i want but that seems like the work-around rather than the right way to do it.
any thoughts on this?
