Are the rotors directional?

Are the rotors directional?
ALso, does it matter if front/rear rotors are switched?

umm, there are only one way that the rotors can be installed. there is a stationaly gear on the outside. i'm not sure but i don't think it matters which one os which (front to back). just try to keep all you parts orginized and don't mix them up when rebuilding <-(safest thing)

They are interchangeable when new, but after 100,000 miles, it's better to not switch them.

Only asymmetrical bevels would make them truly directional.

beveled rotors, now that's something i've never seen before. nor has it ever crossed my mind to do that. cool idea. but just doing some thinking here.....it seems only the opening bevel would be necessary. why the bevel for the port closing when you can have the same effect by lengthening the port itself?

To the orginal poster. Unless you totally are rebuilding the Rotors I wouldn't swap them. In other words, there is a huge deal made out of Identifying and correctly replacing side seals etc when you are doing a rebuild. If you swap the rotors, then you are trying to get a seal to mate with a new surface and you are asking for trouble. In other words They wnat the side seal and corner seals to go back in the same slot the lived in for 100k miles. If you swap the Rotors the aren't rubbing agianst the surface that they were mated with for 100K miles. I'd go with the experts advice.

What happened.....did you forget to mark which was out of where?? You got a 50-50 chance of getting them back in there correctly.

Maybe he means brake rotors

In that case yes they are directional.

ahh, 10-4. i'm assuming that is a pic of the front iron. i wasn't aware of the water jacket routing. luckily, i don't do my own porting.
again, spiffy idea. so how's it working for you. you have an apples to apples comparison as far as HP output?.......without getting too far off topic.

You can do both: a streetport and beveling. This will push peak VE even further to the right (vs. RPM).
